Crystals and gold are bonded to your client’s tooth using dental grade adhesive and UV light curing.
The process is like installing an orthodontic bracket. And is both painless and relatively fast. There is no drilling involved, and the process is semi-permanent.
YES! Whitening first will lessen any discoloration when your gem eventually comes off or is removed.
Whitening over your gem can also weaken the bond, so it’s always a good idea to do a whitening first.
We can usually do both in one appointment, just mention this when you book!
There are a lot of factors that go into longevity. Gems can stay on anywhere between a few months to a year. Brushing hard, chewing hard candies, wearing retainers or injury to the mouth can impact a bond causing it to weaken. These factors may shorten the lifespan of your jewelry.
An office visit to your dentist should be simple to remove the gem and buff the adhesive off your tooth. We do not do removals as those are required to be complete by dental professionals.
Charms, crystals, and gems can only be bonded on organic material which excludes veneers, dentures, or gold teeth. Teeth should be in good health. If you are prone to sensitivity (like drinking cold water), you may experience some increased sensitivity with the gold or crystal piece. If you are unsure, please consult with your dentist.
You cannot bring any outside gems into the studio for application. We would have no way of verifying that it is quality material and cannot take responsibility for use of any outside materials.
